SOURCES OF AUTHENTIC SPANISH

Latin American newspapers and magazines will be more difficult to find outside each country, but if you have internet facilities you will be able to access their websites.

You can also read the newspapers available in your community.

An excellent way to improve your understanding of spoken Spanish is to listen to radio and watch television. For spoken Latin American Spanish you may like to tune in to BBC Spanish Latin American Service, which can be heard on short wave or just any Spanish channel or radio station in your community.

Traveling in a Spanish-speaking country is probably the best way to practice what you have learnt and improve your command of the spoken language.

Good guidebooks: Lonely Planet, Mexico and Central American Handbook and the South American Handbook, Time out, Michelin, Fodor's.
